Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

In what is described as ‘a wordless chronicle of the ages,’ Century Song features a bravura performance from the acclaimed vocalist Neema Bickersteth. The UBC-trained soprano joins me now to talk about the show she co-created with Volcano Theatre director Ross Manson, and choreographer Kate Alton. The 20th Century is the subject of the piece and I’ll get Ms. Bickersteth to tell us about the show and her performance where she utilises her voice and body, the music featured, and more. Century Song is at The Cultch’s Historic Theatre 02-06 February 2016. Visit www.pushfestival.ca for tickets and information. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, in Toronto this day in early January, Neema Bickersteth; Ms. Bickersteth, good morning.
