Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

The award-winning journalist and broadcaster Michael Harris joins me now. His scathing indictment of Stephen Harper, Party of One was published last year, and was a bestseller. He joined me in person this past Monday afternoon, while in town for a speaking engagement. We’ll talk about his book, as well as his thoughts as we’re under two weeks before Election Day. It’ll be interesting to see what the reception to the book was like, as well as what’s happened in Canada since. Michael Harris began his career at CBC Television where he was the host of The Harris Report. He was the Globe and Mail’s Atlantic bureau chief, as well as did a stint in Ottawa. He was the founding publisher and editor-in-chief of The Sunday Express in St. John’s that broke the Mount Cashel abuse story. He is the author of eight books, including one on the wrongful conviction of Donald Marshall. Three of his books have been made into movies. He is a columnist at www.ipolitics.ca. The website for more is at www.michaeltharris.org. Party of One: Stephen Harper and Canada’s Radical Makeover was published by Viking and is available in paperback now. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, in person today, Michael Harris; Mr. Harris, good morning.
