The artist Lilian Broca discusses her work, and her upcoming exhibition, Heroine of a Thousand Pieces: The Judith Mosaics of Lilian Broca (12 November 2015-31 March 2016 at the Italian Cultural Centre), and her craft, with Joseph Planta.

Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Lilian Broca is a celebrated artist known for work with mosaics. She joins me now to preview her forthcoming exhibit: Heroine of a Thousand Pieces: The Judith Mosaics of Lilian Broca. It’ll be at the Italian Cultural Centre’s Il Museo from 12 November 2015 through to 31 March 2016, before going to Toronto’s JD Carrier Art Gallery there. I’ll ask Ms. Broca about her work, about how a mosaic comes together, as well as the themes explored in this exhibit on Judith, who Judith was and more. You might have read about Lilian Broca’s work being stolen, and fakes of her work, as well as unauthorised reproductions of her work being sold abroad and online. Her website is at www.lilianbroca.com. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, in Vancouver today, Lilian Broca; Ms. Broca, good morning.
