Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Bill Good joins me now. The acclaimed broadcaster has returned to the airwaves regularly over at radio station News 1130 providing daily commentaries. A Minute with Bill Good will air throughout the day, and is available over at www.news1130.com. He’s graciously come in today to talk about his life and career. It’s been a year since he left CKNW and his daily radio program that he hosted since 1988. He went to CKNW after leaving the CBC, where he spent over 20 years, a decade or so which he spent anchoring their supper hour newscast. In 1994, he added to his radio show duties anchoring Canada Tonight at BCTV, which he did until 2001, when he co-anchored the CTV Vancouver broadcast until the end of 2010. It’s astonishing to think that from 1994 to 2010, he did the radio program and the news in the evening, as well as the CKNW major news at 8.00am. For his work over the past fifty years, he’s received all the major awards in this part of the world including the Bruce Hutchison Lifetime Achievement Award from the Jack Webster Foundation, and most recently an honorary degree from BCIT. You can follow Bill on Twitter; the handle is @billgood_news. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, in studio as it were, Bill Good; Mr. Good, good morning.
