Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

The butler does it! Again. Charles MacPherson wrote a bestseller a couple of years ago: The Butler Speaks, and this time he’s got a new book, with more advice, more tasteful tips to help us get through every situation. The new book is called: The Pocket Butler: A Compact Guide to Modern Manners, Business Etiquette, and Everyday Entertaining. Charles MacPherson joins me now. I’ll get him to tell us about this book. It’s replete with sage advice from someone who worked as a butler for more than twenty-six years. He’s also the founder of Charles MacPherson Associates, North America’s only registered school for butlers and household managers. He’s a regular on the Marilyn Denis Show, and has written for the National Post and Metro. His website is at www.charlesmacpherson.com [2]. The book is published by Appetite, which is an imprint of Random House. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, from here in Vancouver today, Charles MacPherson; Mr. MacPherson, good morning.
