Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

We’re watching and reading about zombies a lot. It’s hit a peak in the cultural zeitgeist, so perhaps it’s not a surprise that a new novel features zombie action, a substitute teacher who finds himself a zombie, roaming around wanting to be ‘undead.’ All-Day Breakfast is the book, and its author Adam Lewis Schroeder joins me now. I’ll get him to tell us about Peter Giller, the widowed father and teacher who races across the country, eating a lot of bacon while at it. It’s getting great reviews, some of the best of Mr. Schroeder’s career, from some who say it’s outrageous, charming, brilliant, and hilarious, among other choice adjectives. Adam Lewis Schroeder was last on for his book In the Fabled East, which was an Amazon.ca Best Book of the Year. His two other books, Empress of Asian, and Kingdom of Monkeys: Stories were critically acclaimed and lauded. He teaches creative writing at UBC Okanagan, and he lives in Penticton—where he joins me from today. The website for more is at www.adamlewisschroeder.com [2]. The book is published by Douglas & McIntyre. On Wednesday, 06 May 2015, Adam will be part of an Incite event at the Vancouver Public Library’s Central Branch, put on by our friends at the Writers Fest. That’s at 7.30pm, May 6th: 350 West Georgia here in Vancouver. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, Adam Schroeder; Mr. Schroeder, good morning.
