Tristin Hopper

The National Post’s Tristin Hopper discusses working for the national newspaper, satire, history, and more, with Joseph Planta.

Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

The National Post’s Tristin Hopper joins me now. He’s been a favourite of mine on Twitter, because he tweets fairly interesting stuff, as well as often funny remarks on the passing scene. He’s recently contributed to the University of British Columbia’s humour magazine The Syrup Trap [1]. They do hilarious work, and Mr. Hopper’s pieces were often shared amongst those I follow on Facebook and Twitter. I’ve invited him today to talk about his work at the Post, as well as current affairs, and humour. I’m also interested in his keen interest in history. Perhaps we’ll touch upon some of the memorable reporting he’s done thus far. Tristin Hopper is an award-winning reporter, who is originally from Victoria, British Columbia. He’s reported up in the Yukon, and he’s been at the Post for nearly four years now. The Twitter handle is @tristinhopper [2], and the website is at www.tristinhopper.com [3]. And of course www.nationalpost.com [4]. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, in studio as it were, Tristin Hopper; Mr. Hopper, good morning.
