Pippa Mackie

The actress Pippa Mackie discusses her role in the Staircase Theatre’s [1] production of Peter Sinn Nachtrieb’s Hunter Gatherers (playing at the Havana Theatre, 30 October-15 November 2014), with Joseph Planta.

Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Pippa Mackie joins me now. The Jessie Award nominee is part of the cast of Hunter Gatherers, the Peter Sinn Nachtrieb play that is being staged by Staircase Theatre beginning 30 October 2014 and running until 15 November 2014. It’s at the Havana Theatre and Restaurant at 1212 Commercial Drive. This show is described as Lord of the Flies meets Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Two couples—childhood friends—meet up, and I’ll get Ms. Mackie to tell us more about this show, which is directed by Ryan Gladstone. It also co-stars Jay Clift, Peter Carlone, and Maryanne Renzetti. Visit www.staircasetheatre.com [2] for tickets and information. Incidentally, Staircase Theatre is beginning its fifth season. Pippa Mackie is a graduate of the National Theatre School, who’s appeared with a number of companies such as the Arts Club, Belfry, Pi Theatre, Gateway, and Blackbird, among others. Some of us might remember her for playing the weathergirl who flips out on Kai Nagata during one of those hilarious segments for Deep Rogue Ram. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program Pippa Mackie; Ms. Mackie, good morning.
