Gary Bannerman

Journalist, broadcaster and corporate communications consultant Gary Bannerman talked with Joseph Planta about his thoughts on federal politics, the provincial election, and the state of broadcasting.

Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

In our continuing election coverage, I’m pleased to welcome, the journalist, broadcaster, and corporate communications consultant, Gary Bannerman. From 1973 to 1988, he hosted the top current affairs program on radio station CKNW. As a journalist, he broadcast from behind bars-where on three separate occasions he negotiated violent hostage-taking incidents. He also covered the 1973 Middle East War, and won praise and accolades for his legendary consumer and criminal reporting. Born in Nova Scotia, he moved to British Columbia in 1970, where he wrote for The Province. Since, he’s observed the politics of British Columbia, often participating himself. With his wife Patricia, he currently runs Bannerline Enterprises. Please welcome to THECOMMENTARY.CA, Gary Bannerman; Good morning, Mr. Bannerman.
